Title: problem in french
Post by: barathon on November 19, 2006, 08:55:32 AM
hi,
when I receive a mail, I have at the end a bad translation of "insert a note in a message"

"Base de donnÚes des virus (VPS): 0649-1, 18/11/2006"

in effect   the  accent in french below the e is wrong and give a U

the good translation is: Base de données des virus (VPS): 0649-1, 18/11/2006

thanks.

Thanks for the correction...
Probably Igor will take it into account on next avast release.
Until there, you can change your own clean notes into the Internet Mail provider settings.

The default inserted (French) notes don't contain any accented characters, so I guess you must have modified them already (or you have some old version... ?)

The problem with the e-mail inserted notes is that it's not clear what encoding the e-mail (before attaching the note) will have, or if it would be possible to convert the appended text to the target encoding at all. The result might also depend on recepient's e-mail client or its settings... all in all, using accented characters in the appended notes is not recommended.

HI,
thanks to tech, ;)

the good idea is:
"Until there, you can change your own clean notes into the Internet Mail provider settings."
I change all the answers, without french punctuation marks.
and I have created  for example "base antivirus", "corrompu", and so and so.

to igor I have the last version avast professional 4.7.942 VPS 733-0 and I have not modified anything, before the answer of tech. ???

bye.
