Title: Avast Passwords Not Functioning Anymore - Solved
Post by: vich98 on March 26, 2021, 09:50:45 PM
As of last night, my Avast Passwords extension has ceased to work at all. It just says "Hmm... Something's not right" and claims that I don't have Avast installed. If I open the Avast app, the "Avast Passwords" tab has been changed to "Password Protection" and is now locked behind a paywall. I have been using this extension for years now and all my passwords are saved onto it which are all now completely locked away from me. I just want a way to access my saved password info so I can back them up for further use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: The issue has been resolved after contacting the Avast Twitter account.

Hi,

Please make sure that the component is actually added.

To do so please follow these steps:
1. Open Avast Antivirus
2. Click on Menu >Settings > General > Troubleshooting > ADD/MODIFY COMPONENTS
3. Make sure that Passwords (old) is selected
4. Click on CHANGE
5. Restart Windows
