Title: Help with Win32:SuspBehav-B[Heur]
Post by: xyzsail on April 08, 2021, 11:59:47 PM
Mac Catalina. I tried to update RootsMagic genealogy software to the new version that's compatible with Big Sur. I did a complete uninstall, and when trying to install the new version, Avast stopped the install because a component (adsldp.dll) was infected with Win32:SuspBehav-B[Heur].

Does anyone know anything about this? The general advice in their (RootsMagic) installation instructions if you encounter an Apple Security message (which this doesn't seem to be) is to disable the antivirus during the install, which kind of seems to be bad advice.

I appreciate anyone who has insight.  Thanks.

Whilst this is virus detection related, I don't know if it would be better placed in the main Avast Mac Security (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=5.0) sub-forum.
