Title: AVG Enhanced Firewall vs Avast Firewall
Post by: David_27 on April 17, 2021, 03:55:31 PM
I've noticed that they have slightly different settings and they're named differently. I've read some articles/reviews where it is said that AVG's Enhanced firewall is a little bit better.
What exactly is the diference between both? Does Avast firewall have IPS?

I would say that under the skin they are one and the same, given that AVG is part of Avast Software.

Even the Avast Free version (no firewall) has IDS (Intrusion Detection Signature) malware alert signatures.  This I would say would probably be the Web Shield at work and then there is the WiFi Inspector that could throw up something like this also.

Probably a question best asked at the AVG support forum.

Also check this topic https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=260598.0 which appears to indicate Avast also has an Enhanced Firewall https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=260598.0
