Post by: Phanindra on January 20, 2007, 09:31:05 PM
I think Kaspersky is raising in demand when compared to Avast because of Stealth mode option in it.If this is viewed by any Avast developer please try to introduce Stealth mode in Avast which wil raise its popularity and sky will be the limit

This seems to me to be more the realm of firewalls than antivirus products.

If you do not use any form of firewall then clearly this is a plus.  If you use a firewall (I think it is unwise to run without one) then this is superfluous in an antivirus product.

What is the Kaspersky Stealth mode?
I'm lazy to look for it...  ;D

It would appear to be a firewall feature?  (More curious than lazy today  ;D)

From Kaspersky website:
"Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0 is a fully integrated security solution that combines reactive detection methods with the latest proactive technologies, protecting your PC from viruses, hacker attacks, spam and spyware. Seamless integration of all product components (including a personal firewall) eliminates system conflicts and provides fast performance."

edit:  added website info

Ah, so it is not part of their antivirus after all.

They too now have a security suite and it is part of their firewall.  Makes sense now.

And all yours for just $69.95 a year.

I think we can see, someday, an Alwil firewall... I hope this day comes soon  8)
But I think that we'll have a standalone application and not a suite  8)
