Are you refering to a message such as "scanned by avast...."?
Not sure of the exact wording. If so, left click the "a" icon, click internet mail, customize button, on the pop tab, uncheck insert message. Do the same on the smpt tab.

These items are both unchecked. this is what I get at the bottom of both out going and incoming...

No virus found in this incoming message.
Checked by AVG Free Edition.
Version: 7.5.432 / Virus Database: 268.17.4/643 - Release Date: 1/21/2007 5:12 PM

I am a little puzzled ... you cannot see the avast "scanned" details in outgoing messages unless they are sent to yourself.  The avast addition is not made until after your message is stored in your sent file.

Inbound messages coming from other avast users may well contain the avast "scanned" additions that they added ... you can do nothing about those.

That's being put on the e-mail avg. So unless you also have avg installed(not really a good thing) it being put on by whoever is sending you the mail. If they are just forwarding the e-mail to you then you are getting a copy of what they see. Sorry, avast can't remove it.

Yes, that's why it's probably a forwarded email that already has the message on it before he recieves it.

It doesn't have to be a forwarded message.  Just any email from an AVG user who uses the same "clean" message as avast provides on outbound email.

I said forwarded because he says he sees it on both incoming and outgoing. I'm guessing he's looking at the outgoing in the sent items folder. And he says it reads

I see your point.  In forwarded messages the message can usually be edited manually to remove that - if one wants to take the trouble.  You cannot remove it in an incoming message.

Yes I checked the sent item folders and also the incoming files. the message is on all sent items. Does that show on the receivers end?

Yes, if you forwarded the message to someone, as you are sending an exact copy.

The emails you are refering to where they forwarded to you by someone else?

Another point to avast.
AVG does not allow customization (or full customization) of the clean notes.
avast does.  ;)

DAGO, remove AVG from your computer in order to use avast. Disable is not enough and do not even install the AVG email plugin... you'll get conflicts...
