Title: Panda Quick Remover 3.2.1.8 - newbie's question
Post by: hartman on April 23, 2003, 01:58:07 PM
Hi all

I just downloaded  PQREMOVER.EXE "Panda's Quick Remover 3.2.1.8" from the Webattack website and immeditely launched it to scan for worms and whatever. The program claims to be a DOS application and it found no problems on my computer.

Then i launched Avast to scan the downloaded rogram file (pqremove.exe) and and was notified that it contained a virus called: WIN95:MATYAS
located at ...\pqremove\pav.sig

I'd appreciate an informed explanation

Do a boardsearch for PANDA and you will get your answer! :)

Panda stores their "Virus-finding-information"(Signatures) in the pav.sig. The Problem is, that they do not encrypt these information enough, so other AV-Programms will find viruses in there.
