I'm running outlook 2007 and whenever I empty the emails in the deleted folder, Avast scans each one before it is permanently deleted which significantly slows up the process. I don't need it to scan stuff I'm already deleting, especially since it has already scanned it as I got them in the first place! Anyone know how to change this since pausing the provider everytime I empty the folder is annoying. Thanks for your help!

Firstly I don't use Outlook.
You could exclude the deleted item .pst file.
Probably better is to Customize the Outlook/Exchange, Scanner tab settings, uncheck 'Scan achieved messages on open.' I believe when you open the deleted item folder avast scans the contents. See if that has the desired effect.
