just got a new Dell laptop with Vista Home Premium. I used the Norton uninstall utility to uninstall preloaded Norton. It uninstalled with no messages. I downloaded and installled avast! and twice it popped up installation failed errors but continued to install with the final "installation successful message." However, avast! seems to be running fine. The viral database updated. It asked to a boot scan and avast! is listed in the add/remove programs list as running. Suggestions and comments appreciated.
