Yes, it works.

Means that you're having trouble with the skins. That executable is the skinless version.
Do you use any other antivirus in your computer?
Can you try to repair your installation? Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair). You must be connected to the internet while repairing.
If this does not help, can you uninstall / boot / install / boot again?

This trouble appeared after installation and running Ad-Aware. I removed it but problem still present. I think that registry was damaged, because the behavior of Windows is incorrect. Now I'm planning to reinstall it.
Thanks.

If you are using win XP try system restore point before you completely reinstall OS but of course you need restore point beyond installed ad-aware.

I didn't make restore point and this feature is turned off on my computer. I will reinstall OS. The time has come...
Thanks.

And this feature is turned off on my computer.
Why? Generally it could help with 'simple' things... you may only disable if you get an infection AND it infects the System Restore folder...

May be you are right. But I don't fully trust to Windows restore because have some experience. And I think that needs periodically to reinstall Windows  ;). My OS works seven months. Many programs were installed and removed. I will make 'clear' OS and continue from zero point.
Thanks.

Neither do I... I only believe in backup (partition or fully drive backup) and I use Mozy as a remote backup for files (documents) backup. You can give it a try.

Of course, I periodically save necessary files. Now I accurately make copies by Nero. After re-installation OS I plan to use Acronis products for quick save and recovery the system.
Thanks.
