Sorry, I didn't mean the setup log, but rather the "Error" cathegories from avast! Log Viewer (provided the logging sensitivity is high enough).
So, am I right that:
1. You can start aswAvast.exe - and the memory scan performs correctly (I mean, it "looks" OK).
2. You can start aswSimpl / aswEnhcd correctly (and the subsequent scans work OK).
3. aswAvast.exe doesn't start aswSimpl / aswEnhcd when it's done with the memory scan.

Quotebut I cannot launch aswEnhcd.exe from either the simple user interface or by clicking on the executable\
What exactly do you mean by "cannot launch"?
Does the process appear in the Task Manager?
Thanks

Can you please check the file <avast>\data\avast4.ini for the lineVlk,
HideEnhancedGUI=<something>
Is it present? What value does it have?
Are you using the managed version of avast?
Thanks
Vlk
Tech, most of the settings are really unofficial/reserved and can change in any build... I don't think there's a need to document them (at least for now). Thanks anyway. I'll let the original avast4.ini file as it is... incomplete.
Thanks
Vlk
That explains it. HideEnhancedGui=1 effectively disables the Enhanced user interface.
Again, I have to ask if you're using the managed version of avast. If so, check the policies on the AMS.
Cheers
Vlk
