Title: Avast Resident not started
Post by: Add-Aware on April 14, 2007, 01:41:08 AM
After reinstalling avast! all residents do not work. Avast say - "You modernize your system. Current installation of Avast! can't work. Please, reinstall avast". When I reinstall avast, It shows precisely same mistake. OS - Vista x32, other antivirus - no, firewall - no. How I can correct it? Thanks.

P.S. Тут вообще кто-нибудь по-русски разговаривает?

Is your system time and date correct?
Did you have any other antivirus in the past in this computer?

(Add-Aware, it's good idea to translate your post to English to avoid some misanderstanding.)

Hi, everyone. Add-Aware posted my problem with avast installation.

2DavidR: I installed avast on fresh Vista installation. I reinstalled avast many times, with no luck.

2Tech: Date and time are correct. No other antivirus or firewall have been installed.

I installed avast and it works. Then i uninstall it and later install again. Since resident cann't start.

You can see the message on native language here: http://www.avast.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?p=18610

Also i tried to use aswclear and no result.

The message says (in translate): "You've upgraded your OS. Current installation of avast! can't work in this OS. Avast! must be reinstalled".

(Unfortunally, my english is bad)

Everibody, thanks.
The bronya's problem is solved. He just downloaded the latest version of avast!, installed it and now all is fine.

Well... but it is the only way to understand each other here.
No problems about English errors... we can make an extra effort to understand and, besides, you can learn a little more of English this way 8)

For instanse, "aikido" (am sorry for transcription only) may be translated as "the way, leading to manage humans energy" (in English) and "путь к тому чтобы научиться управлять своей внутренней энергией" (in Russian) :)
