Title: What do I need? I'm confused!
Post by: flashnazia on April 18, 2007, 02:45:57 PM
 ???

I have to make a decision on what security software I should purchase for my workplace. I know nothing! I need help!

We are going to have a new server running small business 2003. This will also be our mail(?) server.

We will have 14 workstations connected to this.

What software do I need to protect this? We get loads of spam and would want something to stop this or does Microsoft SBS 2003 have this built in?

avast! SBS Suite
or
avast! 4 SBS Edition
or
avast! 4 Professional Edition?

How many licences do I need?

HELP!

My recommendation is to get in touch with our sales staff - sales@avast.com. They will provide you with a quote.

Thanks

Definately go for the SBS suite fella!  I have it with now 14 clients and it is much less hassle for SBS than any other AV.

MAKE SURE you completly remove Norton or McAfee crap BEFORE you try connecting the clients to SBS!!! Very important and will save you hours and hours of headaches!

ALSO - Go straight for the ADNM and net-client setup for Avast. I wasted time trying out the Pro version on client PC's.

I run SBS2003 Premium R2 and it seems to like Avast AV software.

Avast is not perfect but what is? It is great value for money.

The Avast sales team are good. Just tell them which version of SBS you have e.g. standard or premium and number of clients (14) and they will tell you exactly what downloads and how much.

No - I'm not on commission.  ;)
