Title: Outlook 2007 freezes then unfreezes

With Avast 4.7.986 running, Outlook 2007 under Windows XP Pro x64 will periodically freeze if a "Send/Receive" occurs while I am editing a new message.  The symptoms are:

1.  all responsiveness of outlook or the edit window will freeze, including mouse
2.  system tray will show icon indicating messages are being received
3.  outlook will unfreeze
4.  avast globe will spin
5.  additional messages will be received (system tray activity) and the same freezing will occur

Ideas?

uninstall Avast. Use AVG that's what i did.

Thats for sure not the best way  :o

It's many times better to help the team to solve this problem and probably help Avast! improving their products by removing a bug...  ;)

first i would recommend to update to the last program version, or is there a reason not to do so?
actually there is 4.8.1201...

if you don't want to update to the actual program version you should try to repair you installation (via add/remove programs in the system settings)

do you use any other antivirus-program, firewall, antispyware...?
