Title: avast! iNews obsolete
Post by: kwg on May 11, 2007, 03:18:03 AM
It's disappointing that the most recent post to avast! iNews (viewable in the avast! Enhanced User Interface) wishes its customers "Seasons Greetings" on December 20, 2005. Just a few items below, I see this item, dated September 10, 2003: "avast! 4.1 is here!"

I appreciate the advantages of avast! in a corporate environment, particularly in a multi-layered anti-virus solution (I use avast! at layer 2 in a solution that also includes McAfee and Kaspersky). Therefore, I am likely to advise my clients to renew their avast! licenses when they expire in a couple of months.

However, I wonder if other customers would do the same, considering that the most recent relevant iNews from avast! is almost four years old.

iNews is not a common way to deploy news to the users in general.
But for sure, it will be better, if the feature is there, to update it at least each program update, listing the history review of the new program version.
