Title: USE your PROFILE settings
Post by: S.Z.Craftec on February 20, 2004, 12:10:52 PM
I just noticed too many people don't use their profiles MODIFY feature to set their profile properly. It's very helpful, believe me... It's not like you wanna show up with very powerful computer that you have or something stupid... it's just 'cause it can help you and it can help you get your answers much, much faster...

Too many times, people can't get answers to their questions fast enough, just because they forget to put some important data into their posts and questions (like system specs, memory amount, OS, etc.)

For all those that still don't know how to use that easy feature, it's very useful to use "signature" feature when you post your topics. Go to your PROFILE (top of the screen) and click on MODIFY. There you can play with your personal settings regarding this forum. Why signature is so important ? As I said before, because, you can put inside your signature all your computer specs like type of proccessor that you have, amount of memory, size of your HD, OS that you run on your computer, etc. That way, you'll never forget to "tell" those inormation to people who can help you. Those information are very, very important... you see... if someone who could help you with your problem had those information about your system in the first place, it's very big possibility that he/she could give you the answer right away, instantly. It's not easy always, but it's much easier if we have all those specifications mentioned.

These are just few posts that shows the problem very closely:

I fully agree with you...
Will be easier and better if at the 'profile' settings we have an indication for it: OS, firewall, RAM, and so on...

Anyway, let's continue helping and trying to solve this mess  ;D
