Title: Bad_Pool_Caller Win XP
Post by: MarcZ on February 20, 2004, 05:51:50 PM
Anybody else getting Bad_Pool_Caller errors with Avast? I've got WIN XP Pro and the latest Avast 4.1 Pro Build 4.1.342 and Zone Alarm Pro 4.5.538 just booted up. I walk away come back 10 minutes later with a blue screen with this error.  Is Avast accesssing some memory at that time?  Although if I get on and stay on, it seems to let me work for quite a while.  Hours even.

You can try to check if there is a minidump of the bluescreen in winnt\minidump folder - and if yes, send it to our mighty Vlk (vlk@asw.cz)  ;D

No minidump today.  I'll wait for the next one.

Having the exact same issue with Avast and I have Zone Alarm. Did you find a solution? :-\

Could this be a screensaver or power saving problem?

atest Avast 4.1 Pro Build 4.1.342
Why not using the latest version of Avast? (4.5.523)

danalog,

this was from February,  I can't remember what happened.  I might have taken out some bad ram.  I'll try to remeber and get back to you.  Definitely update Avast and Zone Alarm first
