Title: Saving any file (no matter the ext) renders the Avast window which stops process

 ???  Avast cannot be removed unless FDISK, i.e. WipeDrive. Had to retire machine for now. Someone
Please suggest, or point me to the experts.  Have tried searching for 3-4 file names on partitions and
of course the registry.  In advance, my humble appreciation for superior knowledge and intellect. Graham Barnes.

How have you tried to remove avast ?
What errors were displayed or what happened ?

Download the avast! Uninstall Utility, find it here (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html) and save it to your HDD so you can find it later.

Do you have any other program that is interfering, like other antivirus or security program?
Are you saying that you want to remove (uninstall) avast or there is a virus that you can't remove?
Can you give us more info?
