Title: Avast Home on Dell Inspiron 1501 with ATI Radeon Xpress
Post by: tyn on May 25, 2007, 12:42:35 AM
Hi,

I would like to report to Avast bug tracking but don't know how to do. so here it goes.

Avast Home Edition on Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop causing problem with Graphic card, ATI Radeon Xpress. ATI Catalyst control logging error messages in system log (ati2mtag) and quite frequently crashes the Windows (XP Pro sp2) when you're playing video. Normally BSOD with IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL status.

I just uninstall avast and reboot, no error log in Event Viewer and play video very well without system crash.

I donno if it is avast bug or ATI bug though.

Cheers,
Ty

Please, go to folder \windows\minidump and send the newest (recent) .mdmp files for analysis.
Better if you can compress (zip) them and add some information about the BSOD and the link for this thread.  ;)

Send an email to any of these addresses:
vlk (at) avast.com
rypacek (at) asw.cz

Or upload to the any of these anonymous ftp servers:
ftp://ftp.asw.cz/incoming
ftp://www2.asw.cz/incoming
