Title: Import Account
Post by: njguy99007 on February 22, 2004, 12:45:00 PM
Just an idea, if it is possibe, maybe Mail Wizard can be set up to Import your email accounts.
This function would automatically retrieve the relevant settings from your e-mail client and then put them into avast4.ini file.
Of course this is just an idea, but it would not only speed up the installtion and make a few people happy  ;D

Just a note, i have run the Mail Wizard and to behonest i think it needs a new wand.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but I thought that's exactly what the Mail Wizard actually does...  ???

Well the Mail Wizard, as i ran it ,you specify one (1) email account yes, only one (1) it wont let me, then again maybe its just me, select more than one (1). If you want to have more than one (1) e-mail account you have to do it mannualy, in Avast4.ini, like i stated.

Now if you look at all the posts here on this matter, more than one e-mail account, obviously the Mail Wizard dose not look for your e-mail account, as i have also stated, maybe it can be made too do that.

That was my (wish list), so to speak, in other words, make it simply for people who dont have the time to mess with an INI file.

I think Igor is correct  ;D
This is exactly what MPW does: it can handle multiply email accounts, will 'import' than and make the changes. Do not mess the 'default' pop/smtp server with the possibility of multiple email accounts. You do not need to do it manually in the avast4.ini file... If you already change this file, you can have an explanation of it here (http://www.avast.com/forum/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1647).

Good luck. My avast! manages almost 10 email accounts without any trouble  ;)
