I have been using Avast Free Antivirus for a long time now and never had much trouble with it, until about a year ago. At least once a week, sometimes even more frequently, Avast will completely use up my hard disk's capacity, freezing up any other active programs to the point where not even the Task Manager functions properly. How is this acceptable, and how has nobody reported this before?
My Specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5 4460@4*3.2 GHz
GPU: nVidia GTX 770
RAM: 2*8 GB Kingston DDR3
HDD: 2 TB Seagate Barracuda 3.5 inch

Win 10 Pro 64 Bit, Build 19042

None. I'm not the kind of person who installs two antivirus programs and wonders why they are interfering with each other.
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?
Always have been using Avast, at least on this machine.

That seems to have worked for now, but now suddenly the password manager isn't free anymore when prior it was.
