Title: why avast suggest to disable or uncheck enable ddns of router
Post by: jraju on August 26, 2021, 08:47:10 AM
Hi, I do not know, why avast is suggesting to disable or uncheck enable ddns of the router while scanning with wifi inspector. If i uncheck Enable ddns in the router, and after closing and reopening , it gets automatically enabled. Why?
Do I need to use the ddns to get the dynamic ips or can I disable it totally , and only use the public dns or ISP dns.
could some one give some advice on this .
why routers by default enable this ddns .
Is that different from the Dns server of IsP and public .
what if the router manufacturing company discontinue the ddns access

Hi, I will recreate the error and report back.
What I meant was, when I had this dns hijack alert popup, there is a reslove button. When I click, it goes to popular router page. There there are some points to resolve. One such and the first most point in the avast suggestion is disable or uncheck ddns.
Second was to change the dns to public dns to resolve.
My query comes from these suggestions .
If i disable ddns and reboot the router and then change the dns to public , I was shown no vulnerability in the wifi scan.
