Title: IS the latest version of the windows 7 program from 2019!?

my definitions and application say they are up to date, but says latest versions are from 2019!
Shall I do a fresh installation? Thanks.

A screenshot of these areas may help us to help you.

You also don't say what Avast version that you are using.

A fresh install shouldn't be necessary, first do a system restart and after a restart the same condition is true, then try an Avast Repair.

I cant recall the last time I updated it or was asked to, it's entirely possible it's been bugged for that long. There was only a grey box when I clicked on the main UI recently. Repairing temporarily fixed the grey problem, but not for long. I just uninstalled it and tried a fresh install after restarting and it didn't install.

It's just the plain "avast free antivirus"

But what version of Avast ?
Current version is 21.7 with 21.8 in beta testing.

Any errors given on the install ?

didnt mention the version.
the log is too big to paste here, said it was timing out a lot at the end though
Oh its not working, but is on the uninstall list, it says its 21.7 there.

If it is in the Program Control > Programs > Avast > if you select Uninstall, it should give Repair as an option, was that what you used (and did you restart after the Repair) ?
