Title: What do I do to connect limewire?

I am going crazy because I am trying to connect to limewire, and sometimes it works, but other times it doesn't.  I don't know any technical mumbo-jumbo when it comes to computers or internet, but according to the limewire site, I have a web shield or a shield of some sort blocking this or that.  So how do I get this or that to stop blocking limewire?

We will need more information to be able to help you:
- Which OS are you using? Is it up to date?
- What avast! version number?
- Which actions have you taken to try solving the problem?
- Do you use a firewall? Which one?
- Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system?
- Any other security programs that could interfere?
- Any useful information into Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Events, specially 'Errors'.

Besides what tech has asked, I can only add that the usual cause is a firewall. check the limewire site for info on how to configure your firewall.
