Title: Avast and Dwservice/Dwagent
Post by: hoscalek on September 13, 2021, 01:49:04 PM
Hello,

For remote connection to Windows 10 Pro server I'm using DWservice (www.dwservice.net). I have the free Avast antivirus (latest version) installed on the remote server.

When during the remote session, the Avast window (any window - the main one, some notification, or threat notification) opens, it takes the focus of the whole remote session, and I can do nothing in the Avast window neither can I move focus to any other window or element of the remote screen. The only solution is to send the combination CTRL-ALT-DEL to the remote server through a dedicated button in the DWservice, which triggers the blue windows screen, and selecting Task Manager from the list takes the focus from the Avast window and I can continue working in the remote session. Naturally any later selection of the Avast window (e.g. by clicking on it) again freezes the remote connection, and the same defocussation process has to be taken again.

Listing of the DWservice daemon in the Avast exclusion list on the remote server does not help.

Hi, Avast Free isn't designed to be run on servers. (https://www.avast.com/business/products/server-antivirus)
