Title: How to block web browsers from accessing the documents folder?
Post by: ddabrahim on October 04, 2021, 06:49:27 PM
Hi all!

I have just realised recently web browsers do have access to all the files on my Mac. I can open any documents, from any location in the browser and I can also upload them to any website.
Now since there was (or there is?) a security vulnerability in Safari that allow attackers specifically to access documents and folders on your computer, I was wondering if is there any way to block Safari, Chrome, Firefox, any web browser from accessing my documents folder specifically?

The answer does not have to be specific to Avast. I would appreciate any ideas, solutions you can share.

In case there is no solution to this, I would love to see either Avast extend ransomware protection and add web browser to be not trusted and block them from accessing my protected folders or to have some sort of vault in Avast to protect important documents even from web browsers.

Thank you.
