Title: Firewall not turning on
Post by: greg101 on October 07, 2021, 06:21:39 PM
I Have Avast Premium and get a message telling me I'm unprotected and to turn the firewall on but it won't do it.
Is it safe to have the laptop connected to the internet?

It's possible a 'Repair' of your installation may resolve the issue.

Go to Menu (top right in UI) then Settings/ Troubleshooting/ Click on "Repair App".

- Which version/build of Avast Premium..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?

Fixed it thanks by doing this...

To repair the client software, follow these steps:

Open Control Panel. Select Programs and features.
(Alternatively, press Win + X to open the WinX menu and look for Apps and features at the top)
In the list of installed applications, locate Avast, and click on Uninstall/change.
Click on Change.

4. Select Repair.
5. Wait until Avast repairs the client software by making the necessary changes to the data files.

6. Restart your PC and check if the error persists.
