Title: Application Rules been NOT updated ??
Post by: Flourgrader on November 05, 2021, 11:31:14 AM
Hi All,
Could someone explain to me why when I uninstall a program,
Avast does not monitor that fact and remove from the Application Rules
All the settings, for the now, none existent program.
I have to manually scan with my own eyes the Application Rules list
And remove the unwanted settings manually.
This is very frustrating, time -wasting, creating unwanted clutter!!
This should be automated!!
Thank You.... :)

Hi,

I take it you are referring to the Application Rules under Firewall, correct?

Thank you r@vast, for your reply.
Yes I mean that location in the software.
Protection > Firewall > Application Rules  (right hand corner of open window)

Hi, thanks for your post.

Firewall should periodically check validity of the Application rules and remove those that are not valid anymore (e.g. deleted or uninstalled applications). It is a planned action that happens every day, therefore it can take up to 24 hours before the App rule is removed.

If an application is uninstalled or deleted (the path to the application does not exists anymore C:\Program Files\App ...) and the App rule is not removed automatically after 24 hours, please let us know and we would be happy to check what is wrong.

Thank you

Heloo

Ok,, according now the obsolete applications are automatically deleted,good.. the only thing there is not or I do not see, option to delete them manually (the most delete the incoming / outgoing connection) but the name of the application wing remains in the list.

Thank you
