Title: Change of Local Network Address 192.168.0.xxx to 192.168.1.xxx
Post by: MTUser on October 11, 2007, 04:50:04 AM
We run Avast SBS Suite, one server, twenty workstations. Due to adding another internet gateway, we had to change the numbering of our internal network, 192.168.0.xxx became 192.168.1.xxx after the installation of Avast. Now everything is broken in Avast. The clients are polling the wrong server for updates and are out of date. ADNM has lost contact with all the workstations etc.

Is there an easy way to fix the server edition, ADNM, the workstations etc or do I have to uninstall everything and start over?

First, make sure (using the ADNM console) that the right server address is specified in the computer group's properties, and that the "Try to find an alternative server if unavailable" box is checked.

The let it run for about an hour, and see if the clients start picking up the new settings and become "green" in the Catalog.

If not, you'll have to use the aswChAms.exe tool on each of the workstations.

Use it like this:

aswChAms.exe <new_AMS_name>

where <new_AMS_name> is either the DNS name or IP address of the new AMS.

Thanks
