Title: Badmail folder for SMTP Provider
Post by: mfeodoroff on October 12, 2007, 08:05:50 AM
Hi All,

I'm testing actions taken on infected emails inbound to our Exchange server.  I have set the action to 'Move the message to "Badmail" '.

I have two badmail folders:
C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot\vsi 1\BadMail
C:\Inetpub\mailroot

Alerts have been sent correctly, but I cannot find any email in either of the badmail folders.
I'd prefer to keep the messages and clean them rather than delete them outright.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Mark

Hi again,

One more thing...

This is in the email alert:
Infected Items:   text.scr (Win32:Mydoom-M [Wrm]) [Deleted]

avast! Action:   Moved to Badmail
Virus Database:   11/10/2007

Seems that Avast! may have deleted the email even though the action is to move it.

Hi Guys,

Is there any update on this?  Is it a technical issue, or have I just lost the plot?

Cheers,
Mark

Is nobody else puzzled by this?
I've the same issue on SBS std.
Nothing ever appears in Badmail despite numerous notifications telling me that is what Avast has done!
Would be very interested to know the answer.
