Title: Remote Access Shield Samba Protection blocking network PC
Post by: Gilbert58 on December 12, 2021, 04:25:09 AM
I've had to disable "Samba protection" and "Block brute-force attacks" to prevent Avast Premium Security from continuously blocking access to shared folders on my PC within my home office network. I have a laptop which I use for some smaller processing tasks but it needs to read data from and write data to the drives on the main PC to do this. I am connecting as an authenticated user on the main PC (ie, I have set up a user account for the laptop on the main PC) but it still thinks it's a brute force attack for some stupid reason.

How am I supposed to deal with this? It was all working OK before the latest update. I am on Windows 10 and the PCs are on a wired ethernet. Both are running Avast Premium Security, but not for much longer if this keeps happening.
