Hello all, first post.
Dell 2300, P4 512Mb
XP Home Service Pack 2
Current Security config:-
ZoneAlarm [current]
AVG [current] with Resident [off]
Avast [current] I'm evaluating
Spybot + Spyware Blaster
Hi, Im new to avast as I'm evaluating at present when all of a sudden Avast blasts off with two alerts within a minute of each other, these are in order.
cmdow.exe in WINDOWS\system32 transfer time of 20:53:**
wga.dll in WINDOWS\system32 transfer time of 20:57:**
So I'm off into defence mode, I decided to kill the internet. run Spybot (clean) then run a normal scan with avast which then threw up these.
A0136813.exe in System Volume Information\_restore named Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}
A0136820.exe in System Volume Information\_restore named Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}
A0136440.exe in System Volume Information\_restore named Win32:Trojan-gen {Other}
A0140442.dll in System Volume Information\_restore named Win32:Delf-DYU {Other}
Now I'm wondering if Avast has cleaned the computer correctly and not going to return when I boot or at a later time?.
Should I check with AVG aswell?
and
Did Avast catch this in time?
and if so where did it come from?
as I was waiting for the computer to finish scanning with a different program when the alert happened.
How did this virus get on board? and is it now clean.
Thanks in advance
Phil

They will conflict in XP. Disabling is not enough.

Run a boot time scanning with avast and run other antispyware/antitrojan tools.
But first, uninstall AVG, uninstall avast, install one of them from the scratch.
Welcome to avast forums!

Yes, sorry, forgot this. But you can ask for the programmers a further evaluation period due to this situation.
The first period is 60 days. The second and beyond, only 6 days.
Maybe just uninstall AVG right now and repair your avast installation: Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove. Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).
