Title: Can no longer view folders as web page
Post by: slt223 on March 07, 2004, 04:50:14 AM
I have just installed the promo version of avast 4 (4.1.342) which I got from download.com.  I am running Win 98 on a HP 500MHz PIII.  All of my folders have gone to list view, which I was able to change back, but now when I select "View as Webpage" (to get picture previews before opening them) it now does nothing.  Anyone know what disabled my "view as webpage" option for all of my folders?

I have played around with Folder Options from the Start menu with no success.

Hi and welcome,

I don't recall seeing this mentioned as a problem before, so with one exception I'm sorry I can't offer suggestions.

For a start, though, try updating the program -- current version is 4.1.357 as of about a week ago.  Among other improvements there were some bug fixes, although as I said I don't remember hearing of your problem before.

There'll be more experienced help along before long, and hopefully they can offer useful suggestions whether or not the problem's related to avast, which I don't believe it is.

Best,
Mike

I had a Redlof virus that infected and replicated my desktop.ini and folder.htt files.  Avast couldn't repair any of the infected files and much had to be deleted.  I think my problem starts here, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

avast! can detect the VBS:Redlot (an ITW virus that infects .EXE and .COM files). I try to find if the avast! Cleaner can correct this but it seems that it cannot handle it  :'(
Keep asking for help. Maybe someone more experienced could help you.
