Title: Help needed with multiple pop3 account!
Post by: faffy on March 07, 2004, 03:09:17 PM
Hi!

I need some advice how to modify my avast4.ini file to accomodate 2-3 pop3 accounts.
I use TheBat! email client, when I have a single pop3 account it is easy to configure the client: I set localhost as the pop3 server in the client and add the DefaultPopServer=pop.server.com in the avast4.ini file. However, I could not find explicit examples in the HELP about using more than one pop3 server.
How do I refer to the various pop3 servers in e-mail clients?

That is a good question.  There is a lengthy discussion on this here...

It will at least give some insight into the settings needed.

Faffy, avast! handles multiply pop/smtp accounts with easy. Do not mess this with the 'default pop/smtp server' configuration of the avast4.ini file.

You can see examples:
1. in the Culpeper`s suggestion
2. in the help file (manually configuration of the email accounts)
3. in the 'Understanding avast4.ini file' forum that I started in the past but you can find it searching the forum.

If nothing this help you, oh, that will be a 'The Bat' problem and I do not use this email account. Sorry.  ::)
