Hello:
I currently have avast! 4 Home Edition and am looking for free antiSpyware software. Any suggestions please?

If using winXP SUPERantispyware (http://www.superantispyware.com) On-Demand only in free version. Or AVG anti-spyware (formerly Ewido) (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/) Resident scanner during trial On-Demand after trial ends. Or Spyware Terminator (http://www.spywareterminator.com/) Resident scanner. Or a-Squared free (http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/) On-Demand only with free version(if using win98/ME).
There are others but by comparison they are lightweight, what ever you choose ensure it is part of the solution and not part of the problem as there are some rogue programs out there which profess to be anti-spyware. look in my sig. Click on Spyware Terminator (in my sig) to be taken to the website to d/l it. The only other free real-time as is Windows Defender. ST is better than WD in my experience. However some sotfware works better on other systems, use what works best for you. :)

Superantispyware can also be used with win98, win98se, ME. Actually it's compatible with most anything.
"SUPERAntiSpyware.com software is compatible with Windows 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, Vista, 2003 and XP Home/Pro."
