I just got a popup message supposedly from avast's control center, saying my license expires in 7 days (I just now created an account, so I never did have an account, and used the free version of Avast), and I could either select and continue the free version or choose the "recommended" premium security for $1.89/m.
Attached is a screen shot of this popup. If this is legit and Avast does offer premium for $1.89/m how long is this for, every month for as long as I stay subscribed to the premium version, or does it change to $7.50/m after the first year?

It is a normal Avast Free registration/renewal.
I just got mine a day or two ago, just click the Select the Avast Free Antivirus option - on the next screen just click the No Thanks text or just use the X top right of that window to close it (that is what I did)
if you choose the Upgrade Premium option, the $1.89 cost is a comparative figure as the license would be a year. I have been using Avast Free for almost 18 years and that has been enough for me.

That's great, thanks.
