Thanks for reporting this, our Threat Labs specialists updated our database and this type of attack should now be detected under smart mode as well.

Do we need to wait for next stable or beta version to have this fix?

Is this fix also applied to Avast Free?

It is released via virus definition. So applies to both.

TQ. But I'm curious. Did Avast just update the definitions for that particular malware in the video or fix it for other zero-day malware?

Other similar samples should now be detected as well.
