Title: Initiated update to version 101.0.16113.128; loss of default settings:
Post by: mchain on May 08, 2022, 09:40:13 PM
Hi been a while.

Hope all has been well with everyone!

ASB version 100.0.15871.128 64-bit was upgraded to version 101.0.16113.42 a couple of days ago.  The intiated upgrade appeared to go well but I saw an issue with private mode ASB.  I could not get the default window to turn either Anti-fingerprinting or Anti-tracking on or have these settings stick.

I reverted back to the original version 100.0.15871.128 64-bit.  See post below for downloaded 100.0.15871.128 stub file install gui.

Actually, this process has been repeated for a second time today, with the exact same results as the first install.

Notable the stub file is earlier than the latest version.

Thanks for reporting Mchain, same problem with anti-tracking here;  https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=319429.0
Hope Avast will come soon with a repair-update. :(

Thank you.

Given the reversion to a prior gui setup for adblock which ended in version 92 or so, I don't think something got set right in version 101.

This an FYI post and only meant to let avast moderators know there is an issue with privacy features becoming inoperative in the latest version.

Hopefully one of the avast team members will join some time soon.

Will stick with version 100 for now, but what to do if 101 becomes a forced install?
