Title: Can't remove rootkits
Post by: gangnamgirl888 on May 13, 2022, 03:39:45 AM
So, I noticed recently that my laptop has been having a LOT of fps lag when I play games, and my ping/connection is a bit spotty. This is quite unusual for me as my laptop is 1 year old and specifically made for gaming with quite a decent processor and graphics card. I did a scan and unfortunately Avast One seemed to find 18 rootkits! (Prior to this, I had 0 clue these things existed). I've scanned 3 times now, done 1 full boot scan prior to the 3rd scan, and yet the 3rd scan said they still remain. I'm a little stumped and worried about what to do, so any advice or tips here are greatly welcomed.
