Title: Blocked By Client Error (no extensions enabled)
Post by: jonahmakesedm on June 19, 2022, 09:16:42 PM
This started about two days ago. When I try to stream anything on Paramount+ using Avast Secure Browser, I don't get any video playback. I inspected the page and found the message ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT which means that extensions are causing ads to be blocked (and therefore the rest of the content). The issue is that I have disabled every extension including avast's adblock and I am still getting this error message. What do I need to do to fix this? I'm asking here because the streaming service works fine on other browsers, so I can only assume it's a problem with the avast browser.

Hi jonahmakesedm,

we are looking into it.
Can you please share your diagnostic information? It will help us with the investigation.

1. Open the browser and click on the menu icon (3 dots in the upright corner)
2. Click on “Help and About Avast Secure Browser” and then “About Avast Secure Browser”
3. Click on “Diagnostic Information” (this will open a pop-up window)
4. Click the “COPY TO CLIPBOARD” button to capture the information and paste it here.

Thank you!

Could you please try to disable extension Anti-Fingerprinting?
beghmmhchncjignfbfnemngnlnjdmbcb : Avast Anti-Fingerprinting : 2.5.211

Goto secure://extensions  and disable it

Please let us know if this fixes the problem.

Thanks,
Thomas

I'm getting the same thing (which is the only reason I came here).  I have just renewed my subscription and updated my avast software so it's current (it was happening before I did this).  Drivers are updated.

I notice the video plays on another Google browser (not Chrome), but not on my Avast browser.  Very annoying as I only just noticed it today after my renewal. :(

Hi jonahmakesedm,

most of the described issues from the last few days come from the AntiFingerPrint extension. We are working on a fix and this should solve the problem soon. Actually, the AntiFingerPrint extension is integrated into the browser but could not be disabled by the user because isn't visible, this will fix also in the next few days.

Not sure if this is the same issue, but this is the response I get when trying to log into my bank's web page for online banking:

Are you connected to the internet?
Cannot use 'in' operator to search for 'data' in <BaseResponse xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"><Links><LinkResponse><Rel>enrollment-hostname</Rel><Href>https://fcfcu.com</Href></LinkResponse></Links><Errors /></BaseResponse>

This started over the weekend. Tried with adblocker on and off, same results. Switched over to Chrome and was able to log in fine.

Was also unable to log into https://e41.ultipro.com/ to enter work hours to get paid. Again, switched over to Chrome and was able to log in fine.
