Title: Syncthing Avast False Positive?
Post by: unit.guardian on June 21, 2022, 10:09:37 PM
Hello,

There is an opensource application I use to sync files called "Syncthing" and Avast comes on every once in a while and claims its infected. This happens on multiple workstations but scanning with multiple antivirus and anti malware gets zero results. Nothing is put in to quarantine. Looks like a false positive but even after updates the prompts remain or come on intermittently.

How do you make this stop..

You should normally get a response in a day or two.

Same issue here with a Windows APP

https://github.com/Bill-Stewart/SyncthingWindowsSetup/releases (https://github.com/Bill-Stewart/SyncthingWindowsSetup/releases)

If I test the EXE with Avast I get zero infects. During installation I got different issues as false-Positive. If I switch off Avast for 10 minutes and install the software and switch on Avast all is running well.
