Title: Error playing embedded video
Post by: beammeupscotty on June 24, 2022, 06:08:34 AM

Hello all,

I'm getting the following error on videos on news sites using vjs for HTML5:"An unanticipated problem was encountered, check back soon and try again
Session ID: 2022-06-24:9565f6d0a280b677bd1fc715 Player Element ID: vjs_video_3"

It's only occurred in the last few days. No issues on Youtube etc.
Any suggestions on how to fix it would be most welcome?

Many thanks

Hi beammeupscotty,

Can you please share the webpages with us so we can look at them and check what's the possible reason prevents you to watch the videos?
As first aid, you could disable the AntiFingerPrint Extension.
To do this, enter "secure://extensions" in the browser and search for AntiFingerPrint ID: beghmmhchncjignfbfnemngnlnjdmbcb and deactivate it.

Hello DiePet,

Thank you for your reply. I don't have an AntiFingerPrint extension. I do have an AntiTrack extension but I'm not sure whether AntiFingerPrint is incorporated into AntiTrack, I've tried turning off AntiTrack but it has no effect on the video.

I checked the Avast Addons site and couldn't locate the AntiFingerPrint extension. Am I missing a component?

Any Videos on both sites within tweets and links to Youtube are ok.

I look forward to your advice.

Hello again DiePet,

After a bit more investigation I've found that the player is Brightgrove Video Player 6.65.3 Video version 7.19.1.

On the Brightgrove web site it lists the wo most recent iterations of Chrome and Microsoft Edge as supported. I have tested on Edge on both the web sites in my previous post and it works ok. Only fails on ASB (Chrome). From what i can see in the code it appears that Chrome is not reading or parsing the content and so it generates an error.

I look forward to your earliest reply.

Hi beammeupscotty,

most of the described issues from the last few days come from the AntiFingerPrint extension. We are working on a fix and this should solve the problem soon. Actually, the AntiFingerPrint extension is integrated into the browser but could not be disabled by the user because isn't visible, this will fix also in the next few days.
