Startup Windows 10 21H2 is being adversely affected by AvastSvc.exe constantly using disk heavily for 10 to 15 mins. This is preventing me from starting up other programs until it calms down.
Anyone else noticed this?
I am running Avast Free 22.5.6015 (build 22.5.7263.730).

Hi, if you're willing to help, see: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=237567.0

It will likely be difficult to capture the problem as high disk usage at startup prevents practical user interaction at the time.
I have just had a look using Autoruns and have disabled a couple of (non Avast) tasks. I will see if there is any improvement.
PS: Autoruns lists Avast backup.exe as file not found. From reading, I believe this is a leftover from migrating from Win 8.1 to Win10, so is that startup item now defunct?

Screenshot from Task Manager. AvastSvc just keeps on using disk for minutes after Startup and also on full Restart.
Edit. I can now see AVbugreport.exe top of disk use.
Is that a coincidence?
What does that task do?

What does that task do?
Dev-Info: AvBugReport.exe is an executable that checks if any crashes have occurred - and if they have, it may report those; if they haven't (which should be the usual case), it just exits.

Does anyone have an answer to this question. Devs?
