Title: Avast Cleanup Premium doesn’t work
Post by: virginiosalvi on July 16, 2022, 05:07:41 PM
I tried the 30-days trial version of Avast Cleanup Premium for Mac. The software stated I could regain several GB of space on my hard disk by erasing clutter files, duplicates, and cache. I did the cleaning and Avast stated I had successfully regained 28 GB of space.
However, when I run disk utility on my MacBook, I was astonished finding out that the used space of disk was EXACTLY the same space I had before the procedure. I shutted down my Macbook yet, when I switched it on again, nothing had changed.
I repeated the procedure: this time Avast Cleanup Premium claimed I had regained around 7 GB, yet, again, nothing changed.
Assuming that the procedure was correct (otherwise the Avast app wouldn’t tell me I successfully cleaned), is this just misleading advertising from Avast?
Anyone had the same experience?
Thank you
Virginio
