Title: Avast boot scan

So I try to run a boot sector scan and when the pc restarts it just hangs on the screen for hours , even let it run overnight, it’s it
Possible there’s a virus in the boot sector that’s stopping avast from running? If so how do I run a boot sector scan? Tia
