Hi everybody.
It's funny, but since three day ago APS beguns to block any access to my webcam for all Windos programs and apps, no matter if they're in Webcam Shield's safe zone or not. Even shows popups with "Webcam shield had allowed this app to use the webcam", but the app can't use it.
I've tried all, even reinstalling Windows 11 and the whole Avast stuff again, but only by disabling WebCam shield I can use my webcam.

It's a bug with version 22.7. I and others are facing similar problems with the webcam shield blocking access to functions and apps. From what I've heard version 22.8 will come out on the 28th of August, so download and install the update as soon as it's released.

I use portable web cams and disable the built-in devices, but unplugged or not, Avast cries Wolf!

Hi,
This is a bug; the only workaround would be removing the Webcam Shield component.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

The latest version 22.8 still has the same BUG as the 22.7 version did! What is the point of releasing a new version if it is still broken? This is crap service Avast.

Sorry to hear that! Other users reported that updating to 22.8 fixed the problem for them. Have you restarted your computer after the update?
Can you please generate and send us a "support file" from your system? This article explains how to do that: https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/33/
Once you create the file, send me the File ID in your next response.

Nevermind it's working now!
