Title: removing Avast
Post by: sieloffc on December 18, 2007, 03:38:00 AM
When I try to remove the program via the Add or Remove program icon on the Control Panel, I keep receiving the same error message

Error Loading c:|PROGRAM~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\Setup\setiface.dill

The specified module could not be found.

Please advise me how I can totally remove Avast from my computer.

Thank you.

Go here, download that little uninstaller and follow simple instructions provided on that page.

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html)

And regarding this part:

Quote
Error Loading c:|PROGRAM~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\Setup\setiface.dill

That should be .DLL , not .DILL (I believe you made a typo).

I want to thank SasH for giving an answer that solved my problem.

You're more than welcome, although I would want to see you asking for different kind of help, solving your possible problems with avast! antivirus so it works fine on your machine, rather than uninstalling it completely.

Did you have some kind of problem with avast! and that was the reason for uninstalling it completely ?

Cheers!
