Hello there!
I've been using Avast for more then three years now, and never had a problem, but now, after I had reinstalled windows, each time I start Windows, Avast starts with a memory check and afterwards it wants to scan my local drives. I have to manually stop it each time, never happened before. What did I do wrong?

It sounds like you have a startup entry (not created by avast) to run ashavast.exe as that does what you say does a memory check and then launches the Simple User Interface.
Have you or anyone else made any tweaks to your system that might run ashavast.exe either in msconfig, the startup folder or perhaps a schedules task.
What version of avast do you have, home or pro (the latest version is 4.7.1098, check about avast) ?

:) Thanks. now I know what went wrong, and can correct it, I put a alias in the startup function , I will take it away.
By the way, I've got the newest version, just downloaded it this mornig!

There shouldn't be any need to make any modifications to the installation unless you are experiencing any problems, are you (other than what this topic was about) ?
