Thanks for the new release :)
Just noticed that, it seems you guys starts changing version number from the last beta (22.9.6034).
This would avoid user confusion, as suggested before.

I just installed the new Avast (free) 22.9.6034 (build 22.9.7554.734) and now, the "Avast Service" use, constantly, 28% of the CPU (with some peak to 60%).
How to stop this high usage of CPU?
S.O.: windows 8.1
UPDATE: restarted again the computer and now the CPU usage is back to normal (0%)

Re "Email Guardian Google Login Just log in with your Google Account. It’s that easy!"
I use Mailwasher Pro to vet (small text based extract, not full download) my normal email before downloading to my system.
Now recently Mailwasher sent me an email about changes to Gmail, in that you couldn't just use your gmail logon within Mailwasher. You had to create
So how is this going to work with "Email Guardian" ?
As surely this would apply as it is being accessed externally in the same way as Mailwasher.
Can't get your Gmail email in MailWasher?
Recently Gmail made some security changes to you stop using your own Gmail password in MailWasher and some other email programs.
Here's how to fix this so you can see Gmail in MailWasher again.
You will need to generate a dedicated App Password for using in MailWasher.
This doesn't impact me as I don't download my Gmail via Mailwasher or Thunderbird as I don't use it as my main email address a bit of a junk filter. But if what Mailwasher is saying is true, I can't help feeling this would be the same for the Email Guardian !

Does this update include the beta fixes for Thunderbird unable to connect to its own update servers plus other email fixes?
I installed it but still Thunderbird is unable to update without disabling Avast or adding exclusions to Avast list: aus.thunderbird.net and www.thunderbird.net

Please ZAP the graphics (question marks) it does nothing to help.
First some more detailed information would be helpful, attach an image of the Avast alert window.
The more details you can give the more likely it can be resolved, malware name, file name, etc.
The Operating System and build number, the avast Program that You are using, Avast Free, Premium, etc.
This should be in any alert window (show details section).
Second, this should go in its own new topic as it will probably get lost within what may become a large topic.

I was going to set up Email Guardian for Gmail, but the permissions Avast asked for made me too nervous about doing it. Here's what alarmed me:
1. Avast asks permission to send emails from my account! Why would it send emails and to whom? What would the content of the emails Avast generates be?
2. Avast wants to edit or change labels that may contain personal information. How would anyone else see my Gmail labels? Would it notify me before changing the label and allow me to specify a new name?
3. Avast wants to move emails to trash, spam, labels, and my inbox. Will it notify me when it moves suspicious emails to trash? Sometimes I shop at rather small overseas stores, and I am worried Avast would send order confirmations or updates to the trash because it doesn't recognize the seller. Will I be able to tell Avast to trust the email address? Also, why would Avast move files into the inbox or labels? I can see why it would move files out of the inbox or labels, but not into the inbox or labels.

For the past couple of weeks (I suspect since Avast Premium Security automatically updated itself), I've been unable to log onto my work's Citrix landing page. Initially I thought it was an issue with the page itself, but our IT people assured me that everything was functioning normally, and colleagues also confirmed that they'd been able to log in. I tried rebooting my PC to see if that solved it (it didn't). So as a workaround, I've taken to temporarily Avast Shields Control for 10 minutes, which is plenty enough time for me to log into the site and punch in my authenticator code.
Is there a rule that I can put on which will automatically allow me to hit that website without having to disable the shield? I know it's only for ten minutes but I'm generally not wild about being unprotected for any length of time if I can avoid it.
EDIT: Typical: after I posted this I did a little more poking around on the Premium Security software and found the Exceptions option which allowed me to add the company's Citrix site. I've tested it, and can now hit the gateway properly without having to disable anything.

What was the problem in connecting, avast alert or other warning ?
Always best to try to resolve it rather than have add an exclusion (last resort).

I have retracted the original comment. I was mistaken in my observations.

Well this is possible, avast 22.9 was released before any new program release topic was created. That said this would still be a little early as new program version release happens close to the end of the month or start of the next month.
That said try a manual program update, as I have just done and the download is in progress.
So a restart is the next port of call :)

I did clean install trough offline installer on Tuesday (not beta), installer was version 22.10 and also installed Avast was of course 22.10. I mean this version is out now couple of days and we have still no changelog.

Restart confirms update to 22.10, see attached image and forum profile info below post.

I did clean install trough offline installer (not beta), it is version 22.10.
Offline installer should always come up with the latest avast version (assuming the OS supports it as yours would), and it should never install a beta version. So it looks like Avast are slow in the notification of the new regular release version.

Would appear so. 22.10 appeared as an update notice two or three days ago, see attached below.
I think that, to minimize any confusion, a new update version number should be posted on the update page similar to the one attached below. I thought it best to not update until such change was posted on the forum, but alas, the (current) topic title says 22.09 version?

Well it looks like the forum is becoming tardy in reporting the new program updates as this also happened with 22.9 as I mentioned earlier.

It took several days (possibly a week) before the new update topic appeared and all the while the current beta topic continued to get updated. This is the same for 22.10 beta which has just been updated also. This just confuses the issue!

It is a bit ludicrous that this thread has not been edited to correct the version number error. Is information accuracy no longer important in this Avast communication channel? You would think that Liz Truss and her UK bunglement were running Avast!

Let's leave personal political opinion on facebook. Thanks
