Title: Avast email guardian - cannot understand how it works - help please!
Post by: gorbren on October 30, 2022, 02:27:25 PM
Hello Everyone

Please help me as I am very elderly and have been with Avast for years but am puzzled what to do!

I have just added 'Guardian' as part of my Avast Security because suddenly foe the past week I have been receiving about 15 spam emails from UPS and others to my GMail address  which I cannot block because each time I do that another arrives with a slightly different address!

Another has just arrived and for the first time it has shown not in Inbox but in a label  called Avast Safe (but it is a scam!) Underneath is another label called Avast Suspicious - why did it not go in there? Do I do something with it which will tell Avast for the next time?

I am completely confused as until now I have never had many scam messages at all - now they are every few hours

Thanks

Gordon

Hi,

Since you have a paid subscription, I would suggest that you contact Avast Support via https://support.avast.com/en-gb/contact/paid_pc_avast-premium-security#pc

This isn't an Avast problem but a Gmail problem.
Hopefully the following article puts some clarity on this disturbing topic:

It's a problem that Google needs to address as I stated in one of the topics in
my last Avast Security News Roundup (https://youtu.be/V97xyAII_sk).
